I get it, you’ve had a long busy day and the couch is beckoning – you’re just too damn tired! But think about it your body was literally born to move! so maybe some days doing a HiiT session may not be on the cards but your body will still thank you for moving, so maybe take a walk on the beach, breathe the fresh air and think of what to be grateful for, before you crash on the sofa today. Listening to how your body feels on any given day and treating it accordingly gives you the benefit of being in control of both body and mind. Give yourself permission to move a little or a lot, either way you’ll feel better mentally, and if you’ve been hunched over a desk all day your body will thank you too. Reward your body with movement, not only will it increase your heart rate and get your endorphins flowing, it will also stimulate your brain. Regular exercise is proven to improve your mood and sleep, as well as reducing stress and anxiety, and can be as simple as going for a walk which costs you nothing. Some days you may feel like a boxing class to get your heart rate up, and leave you feeling awesome, other days a gentle yoga class will relax you after a tough day. A walk on the beach is always a firm favourite of mine, whatever the weather. No matter which option you choose to do on any given day, don’t forget to be awesome!
